1. I've climbed 46 of the 48 mountains over 4000 feet tall in New Hampshire. In fact I've climbed most of them many times. The one I've climbed the most is Mount Lafayette which I've climbed at least 10 times. One time on one of the Tripyramids, I stood on the top that just peaked above the cloud layer. Above me was a sunny, bright blue sky but down, only a few feet, below was a bed of white clouds that extended to the horizon, uninterrupted except for the intrusion a handful of taller peaks. The two peaks left to climb are Isolation and Carrigan (although I may well of climbed the later already but I need to do it again to make sure). Now that I think of it, this picture I posted with me in my beard was taken on that Tripyramid trip.

2. I've owned 2 VW bugs. One I painted with spray paint from a can. It looked pretty good. Most people didn’t notice. I once fixed a broken throttle cable that snapped while going down the highway by hard wiring the throttle with a paper clip and using the car's starter motor to get into gear. The funny part was I had to do this a couple of times in order to fine tune the adjustment of the paper clip so I was going 55mph.
3. I was a Boy Scout. I made Life and was working on Eagle. One time on a camping trip while conducting a 'snipe' hunt for the younger kids in the woods, a strange man grabbed me and I struggled to get away, which I did. When I told the adults, no one believed me.
4. I got into programming as a career by reading one of Russ Walter's Secret Guide to Computers books. I was working in tech support for Alpha Software when Russ asked to make a trade; our software for a couple of his books. We made the trade, I read the book and I fell in love with programming. Within six months I had transitioned from tech support to development.
5. The first time I met my wife was at work in my office. My wife Jayne was a F.A.S.T. (Forward Army Surgical Team) medic in the first Gulf war. I worked with her sister Karen at Alpha and Karen and I became friends during the war because I had a small TV in my office and she would come in to check on the news from Iraq. When Jayne got home Karen brought her by to meet me. I proposed to Jayne on the North Bridge in Concord.
I think I'm breaking some unwritten rule about the number of people you can tag, but I tag Bob, Brian, Dave, Don, Maureen, Mike and Roy.
